This is the Gore‑Tex boot I wore for the tests, and it did exactly what you’d hope in wet snow: it kept outside water out and my socks stayed way drier than the non‑Gore‑Tex setup. The tradeoff is the usual one—breathability is not the superpower it’s marketed as, especially on a sweaty climb. For winter wet conditions, it works, but you’re paying extra for a breathability story that doesn’t move the needle much.
