About This Video

Salaries are one of the few topics that can unite the Salesforce community, and in this video I walk through why our latest salary survey paints a pretty bleak picture. Nearly half of respondents told us their pay either dropped or stayed flat: 41.6% reported a decrease and 35.8% said it stayed the same, with only 22% seeing an increase. When you pair that with 55.2% saying they have fewer opportunities in their roles than before, it’s hard not to feel the shift—this ecosystem is a very different beast compared to two years ago, and it’s increasingly an employer’s market. I break it down by role so you can see how the squeeze is landing. Admins are feeling it hardest (50.7% reported decreases), which lines up with what I’m seeing: oversaturation, higher expectations, more hats to wear, and a lot of anxiety about where AI fits. Developers aren’t immune either (38.8% down), even though almost 90% of devs told us they’re already using AI—there’s still a gap between “AI ideas” and being staffed on truly AI-focused projects. My takeaway is simple (and not very glamorous): specialization and adaptability are the way forward. You need to think like an employer and ask, “Am I what they’re hiring for—and if not, how do I become it?”
