On top of that, the expense control is strong because the reporting dashboard is fantastic—you can set spending limits per card and pull detailed reports on driver activity, location, and even true miles per gallon, which can seriously simplify tax accounting. But I also point out the critical drawback: it’s a closed network. This card only works at Shell stations, so if your driver is on an unfamiliar route or needs fuel immediately and the closest station isn’t Shell, the card is basically useless. I also talk about hidden fees (monthly or transaction fees) that can eat up your rebates if you’re not fueling enough, and the high APR if you carry a balance. My takeaway: it’s an excellent cost-saving tool for high-volume fleets operating near Shell-heavy routes, but it requires strict route planning and disciplined payment habits.
