Security alerts are also timely, and you get access to Zelle plus both personal and business accounts in one place, which is genuinely convenient. Now for the biggest downside: reliability. I ran into frequent login issues, and the app often pushes extra verification steps by email even when I select “remember this device,” which makes quick access nearly impossible when you need it the most. I’ve also seen mobile check deposit temporarily unavailable on multiple occasions. And when the app freezes or throws an error, the lack of immediate high-quality in-app support is noticeable. Overall, I rate the M&T Banking app 3 out of 5 stars—good features, poor execution, and the overaggressive security checks can make daily use a struggle.
