In this video we compared the Halo Strap for Oculus Quest 2 $32 vs Oculus Elite Strap at $45. Buy the Halo Strap for Oculus Quest 2 here - https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_AnzsuX Thanks to the new attachments of the Quest 2, installing either head strap is very quick and easy to do. Installing the Halo Strap for the Quest 2 was just as simple as the Elite Strap, both require you to attach the sides to the headset and fix the top velcro head strap band to the headset and the strap. Both straps have their pros and cons. Right now you can't even get the Elite Strap for the Quest 2, due to manufacturing defects that Oculus is frantically addressing. You can order the Halo Strap today from AliExpress, but it took just under a month to arrive in the UK from China, which by then the revised Elite Straps may then be available to order. The fit and feel of the Halo Strap is great, and just as supportive as the Elite Strap. The benefit of the Halo Strap however is that it takes a little more of the headset weight off the cheekbone area of your face, but at the sacrifice of more weight on your forehead. With 30mins play in the Halo Strap I started to feel a little discomfort in the back of my head from pressure at the rear end of the strap. [Update: I tried this again and you have to make sure you place the rear padding at the low base of your head to get the best comfort out of the Head Strap. Once I did this and played for the same session time I had no discomfort.] The top head strap can be easily removed and not used on the Halo Strap, so if you don't like to suffer with 'Quest hair' then the Halo Strap might be for you. The strap just as a little extra support, but for more calm games you could easily live with out it attached, and unlike the Elite Strap, you can remove the top strap completely. The back tightening adjustment cog felt good on the Halo Strap, unlike the one I had previously on my Quest 1 which soon come loose with frantic play. I have yet to experience either strap coming loose during active gameplay. The padding is good quality and easily supports the forehead and the back of your head without feeling any of the plastic that it is attached to. The padding is also a PU Leather material, meaning it can be easily wiped off when it gets sweaty, and it will do, especially the forehead part. I would have liked to have seen two holes/hooks (similar to head strap hole) at the back of the strap to use alongside a battery pack and some attachment straps, but the Elite Strap (non-battery version) doesn't have this feature either. So there's no winner here in that regard. Audio is the bigger issue though with the Halo Strap. As you have seen in the video, the wider design of the Halo Strap forces any over-ear, and likely on-ear headphones too, from sitting firmly over or around your ears. This means that the sound from the headset will not be as immersive as it does when using the headphones with the Elite Strap. If you are a player who just uses built-in headset audio or earbuds, this will not be an issue. But if you prefer to use a headset or headphones, the Elite Strap will offer a better experience, albeit it is still not 100% perfect. It is this audio issue that this Halo Strap type will always face due to its design and it makes me hesitate to recommended this strap fully. It really depends on your audio and comfort requirements. For $32 it's not going to break the bank if you're willing to wait for its lengthy delivery time, its a solid and comfortable third-party head-strap alternative for the Quest 2, but with the revised Elite Strap only just $13 more, it purely comes down to your audio and comfort requirements as to which you should go for.
