Well I think you still can surf a shortboard in your 50s and but I'm telling you it's so much harder to paddle and catch waves on a shortboard in my 50s compared to my 20's and 30's. This session started out with lots of hype then tons of frustration then a lot of stoke only to end it with a lot of frustration. Just gotta enjoy the stoked parts. Took me an hour to catch my first wave and nearly and hour to catch a wave in. That's very unusual for me to go that long without a wave, I was way off my game.
