About This Video

It is finally happening — I’m kicking off the tiny camper build in my 2011 Honda Element E-Camper, aka “TANK the TOASTER.” In this video I take you with me to my cabinet maker’s shop where we start turning my Element into a real, functional little home-on-wheels. This is the part I’ve been dreaming about: getting the build moving in a way that’s actually going to support my day-to-day vanlife—simple, practical, and built around how I really camp. I also share some of the key people and parts I trust for my Element setup. When it comes to major work like lifting, I don’t mess around—I try to take my Elements to Nick Stice at Tonkin Gresham Honda whenever possible, and yes, you can ask for the “Ninth Element Lift Kit” (the “Mindy Lift”). I also call out a few Element-specific upgrades I’m excited about, like the HIRO’S HOTRODS swivel seat (because a swivel in an Element is a game-changer) and parts support from Element44Workshop. If you’re building your own Element camper, this video is the start of the real build journey—learning as I go, but doing it the right way.
