Nerdy art was the foundation of this hobby for me. It’s what pulled me in, and it still inspires me today. Recently I wanted to take it a step further — not just be inspired by the art, but actually use it to shape how I painted a miniature. I got to work with the insanely talented Joel Chaim Holtzman, and his piece The Judge became the basis for my Chaos Dwarf leader. His wild color choices pushed me in directions I’d never have tried on my own, and the end result is some strange Gargamel-meets-Skeletor-meets-Shredder nonsense… and I love it. This is part of the project I'm developing — The Deck of Many Colors — to give real artists like Joel a platform in our hobby and celebrate their work.
