I finally found the perfect fork upgrade for my 90s GT Avalanche mountain bike! 🚲 In this video, I pick up a mystery bike off Facebook Marketplace—mainly for the Kona Project Two rigid fork—and install it on my vintage GT Avalanche. This was the one upgrade the bike desperately needed to feel complete. If you’ve been following the restoration videos of my GT, you’ll know I’ve been searching for the right rigid fork to replace the clunky RockShox Judy it came with. Not only does this Kona fork clean up the look of the build, it also makes the front end lighter, simpler, and just way more dialed in. This GT build has come a long way from its original, untouched condition.
