My site: https://nicktsai.com/ It is quite necessary to define your ideal customers as it helps build and flourish your business by attracting the right audiences. In this short video, I will tell you why I realized the importance of identifying your ideal customer, and how you can do that. Let’s get started! In this video, I want to talk about an important principle that you want to keep in mind before you publish any piece of content. Before you publish your course, or your video, you want to keep in mind who your ideal customer is. That’s really important. And I learned this lesson the hard way. So few years ago, I tried to publish an online course on how to sell on Amazon, because by then, there was so much demand for that. So my idea was that if I can publish a course on this, I can tap into the market. So then I was wondering ‘how’ can I tap into the market, and attract customers. I did some research and found out that so many people were searching for the keyword ‘how to make money online. I honed on that and built my entire course around the premise of ‘how to make money online-selling on Amazon.' But later, I realised that it was a mistake. The people who were making those searches were broke. So I ended up attracting a lot of unsuitable low-quality customers who did not buy anything, asked for refunds, and complained a lot. Those people became a nightmare for my business, as they were not the ideal customers. So it is really necessary to know your ideal customers in order to make your business flourish. There are few ways of identifying your ideal customers. Firstly, you can list down all the values and personalities you want. There is a lot of audience in the market, we only want a sub-set of that. We want people who share the same values as us, or have the personality we admire. Maybe, for me, I like people who are action takers, people who are responsible for their life, or people who are honest. So after writing down the criteria of the people who appeal to us, I want to write down a message or copy for those people. That’s why you want to identify your ideal customer before starting your business, because you would want to build a long term business. So you should appeal to the right audience.
