It helps you impart your knowledge, and also earn money along the way. While creating your own course can first appear to be a daunting process, it can become quite easy and profitable if you follow certain practices, and use the right tools. I have laid those out in my videos, and trainings. Do you want to create your online course but you are not sure what kind of equipment and tools you need to create your video. In this video, I want to talk about the equipment and tools you need so that you can create a high quality course. Let’s talk about the two ways for you to create your course video. First one is, what we call, creating a screen capture video, which means that you are doing something on the computer and you just record it. Another one is, what we call, recording talking head, just like, I am talking to the camera. These is a very common type video as well, so what are they tools that we need? So, if you want to do screen capture, all you need is a microphone and a recording software. Now there are some options for you that you can use your webcam as well, so that you can record your talking head. But sometimes it is really hard to operate on the computer, and look at the camera at the same time. So this is really an option for you. Another one is that you can use mind map software. I think that it is really a great alternative for a presentation software. You can choose PowerPoint or Keynote, but for me, it is easier for me to create a presentation on mind map and it is really quick. I can finish my outline on the mind map, and then I can create the entire training with the mind map. If you are to create a talking head video, the first thing you want is a camera. It can be your phone or it can be your DSLR or it can be a really professional camera. You also need a microphone. It should be directional microphone, so that it can get a clear sound. You also should get some light. You don’t have to do it you have a really sufficient and natural light in your place. But most of the time, that is not the case, so you want to get some light. You also need some backdrop, like this one, so that it look more professional unless you have got a really wide wall. Most of the time, I would recommend you to get a backdrop. Then, you may need a white board if you want to explain something with the white board. So, these are the tools that you need if you want to create a talking head video. I would say that if you only have a limited budget, then screen capture is the best option because all the things are super cheap. But if you can pay for the camera and you can pay for the light, then if you want to create a more interactive video, talking head is the video for you.
