It helps you impart your knowledge, and also earn money along the way. While selling your own course online can first appear to be a daunting process, it can become quite easy and profitable if you follow certain practices. I have laid those out in my videos, and trainings. Hey, what's going on? My name is Nick Tsai. In the past few years, I've been publishing different courses on different platforms. I publish courses on Udemy, Shareskills, and also on my website. I'm making great income just by publishing online courses, but I actually learned this a really hard way. Sometimes I publish a course, and no one's even watching that, so it's really frustrating. Get Ideas and Research The first step you want to do is you want to get ideas; you want to brainstorm ideas, and also you not only want to get ideas, you want to do some research to validate the idea. This is because sometimes you may have some idea which is great, but there's no such value because there's no demand, so you may either come up with a really great idea, but there's no one searching for a keyword, or you may get into a really high demand but also really high competition idea, so neither way is good. You want to find the sweet spot, you want to find a high demand idea, and also the low competition idea. Creation After you have got the high demand and low competition idea, you can go to create your course. Now many people will stop at this part because they don't have much confidence on camera, or they will be like ‘well I don't have a studio’ but you don't need any of that. A simple presentation video, or even a mind map can work really well. I will cover more about that in my free training as well. Upload and Optimize Then after you create the course, which is actually really easy if you follow the simple formula, you go to upload and optimize your course. The problem of many people is that they upload the course and they forget it. They don't do anything, but there are many things you have to do to optimize. You have to optimize the title, the description, and also the thumbnail and the content. You want to keep on refining the course, and you want to add more content to the course over time. Once it becomes a really sophisticated course, you can go to scale. Scale You can even move the same content to your site, and right now you can sell it for higher prices, because there are many people on Udemy or on those sites. They're giving you feedback, like giving you review to help you refine the course. That's the reason why when you publish the course on your site, you can sell for higher prices, and there's no problem. So this is the first simple system.
