This will help you influence them better as well. So, one of my favourite quotes from Tony Robbins is that if you want to influence someone, you have to know the things that are already influencing them. Before you create the first piece of content, you want to know you are you targeting, what are their values, dreams, what is already a=influencing them, etc. So in this video, I want to talk about the 8 things that are already influencing your audiences, which will help you write great content. Let’s get started! For all human beings, we have two major motivations: we chase pleasure, and want to move away from pain. We all want a better lifestyle, we all want things that make us happy. That is the pleasure we chase after. We don’t want to feel sad, disappointed, etc. so we all want to move away from pain Fear. If a guy sees a beautiful girl on the street, he wants to ask her out, but gets a ‘fear’ in his head that maybe she will reject him. Or maybe we see a great opportunity for investment, but stop due to the fear of it being a scam. So fears stop us from moving forward. Your audience will have a lot of fears as well, you need to understand them, and help them overcome those fears. Struggle. We all face a lot of our struggles in our journeys towards our goals and dreams. Maybe your audience wants to lose weight but there’s so many temptations, so many great foods. So if you create content that would help them lose weight, they will trust you more. Or maybe they want to make money online, but don’t know how to. So you want to create content that would help them with their struggles. Enemy. Enemy doesn’t have to be a person. It could be an ideology, or culture. So if you fight with them against the enemy, they will feel that you are a part of them. You believe in what they believe. That’s a really powerful leverage. Limiting beliefs. This also stops them from moving forward. They think they cannot do something, and they will fail if they try. For example, they are scared of public-speaking. They said they are an introvert, and can’t do it. But you can help them by telling your story or someone else’s story, like, I used to be shy as well, but overcame my fear by doing this. Telling stories can help your audience with their limiting beliefs. Pleasure Dream. What is they thing they envision about every day. They won’t tell you about it perhaps, but if you know their dreams, you can really help them. Desire. What is the thing they really want? Perhaps, a healthy body, quitting their 9-to-5 job, etc. The difference between dream and desire is that the former is bigger, and the latter is smaller. But these are the things that people want. Value. It is the opposite of an enemy. Enemy is something they will fight against, value is something they will fight for. Maybe, they will fight for freedom, human rights. So you want to fight with them. Sometimes it could be something they pay for, like health. So if they get sick, they will go to the hospital, and pay the bills. Beliefs. Some people believe that the earth is flat. You cannot argue with them. Instead you should something like, ‘you know when I was younger, I thought the world was flat, but the I read a book, and now I think differently.’ You have to understand their beliefs first, only then you can influence them. You want to build trust and relationship with them. Only then they will believe that you are a part of them. That’s the 8 things you should know before creating any content.
