ActiveCampaign can be used for creating lists for marketing, and setting up automations. This tutorial will prove to be essential for beginners at Activecampaign. As in this short video, I will go through the steps of creating lists, and setting up automations in Active Campaign. Let’s get started. Hello, I am Nick Tsai. In this video, I want to show you how you can add a list and create an automation inside Active Campaign. So the first thing you want to do is go to ‘Lists.’ Then you want to click on ‘Add a List.’ Then you want to give your list a name, so we can call it ‘demodemodemo.’ Then you want to choose the website, then you want to describe it, and then you click on ‘add.’ Then after we have created our list, we want to go to automation's. We want to create automation based on that. There are actually some templates you can choose from, but you can also click on ‘Start from Scratch,’ and then click on ‘Continue.’ Then you want to add a start trigger, it could be anything: a tag, a goal. But this time, we want you to use ‘subscribe to a list’ as a start trigger. We click on it, and then click ‘continue.’ So we just created a list called ‘demodemodemo’ so we just choose that one, and click on add start. Right now, you can choose to add a new action so it can be anything, you can send email or send SMS. You can even choose to wait, perhaps wait for one day, or you can start another automation. As you can see, there are so many things you can do inside Active Campaign. But for beginners, if you are totally new for email marketing, all you need is ‘send an email.’ But if you are more advanced, you can use others like ‘Go to’ or ‘Goal.’ Those are all optional So we just click and send an email first. Then they will ask us to ‘Create a New Email.’ You will open it, choose a name, and then create. Then you want to choose your email layout from those templates. You just choose one, write your email, and then click on ‘next. Then you want to send a test email for yourself to see if you can receive the email. At this time, I am using a free email from Gmail but I highly recommend you to get your own domain so that you won’t be sent to a spam box. Then we click on ‘save.’ Then after everything is done, we click on ‘finish.’ Then you click on ‘wait,’ so you can choose to wait for one or two days, or even one hour. I recommend you set it to one day, so basically, don’t send too many emails in one day. After the first email, you can send another one. You create an email, choose a template, and then you edit the email, and save it. So that is how you create a list, and setup automation's. So after they sign up for ‘demodemodemo,’ the first day, they received an email, then they waited for a day and received another one. You can keep on building this so you can create an evergreen campaign, and you don’t have to manually massage your subscribers. So that’s really powerful. After you are done with everything, make sure to make it ‘active’ so the automation can work.
