Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/nicktsaim... My site: https://nicktsai.com/ Selling your courses online is a very lucrative process. It helps you impart your knowledge, and also earn money along the way. While creating your own course can first appear to be a daunting process, it can become quite easy and profitable if you follow certain practices. Knowing where to sell the course is a very significant matter. I have laid all the information regarding this in my videos, and trainings. In this video, I want to talk about a really common question I get from my students, that is, which platform should I use to sell my course. Should I use Udemy or Shareskill, or should I use my own website. So, I want to compare the difference, so that you can make a smart decision. So the two options that we have here is, selling on Udemy, or selling on your site. You may wonder, what about other sites, I would say, if you were to choose a free platform, Udemy is the best option. Even though, there are many course sites, most of them do not get much traffic. So, you can definitely publish on all of them, but if you were only to choose one, I would say, Udemy is the best one. But, if you want to build your brand, you still have to publish your course on your own site. There is a reason why, there are two options here. That is quite a difference. The first difference is that selling on Udemy is free, so you do not have to pay anything to become its instructor, it is free to sell your courses on Udemy. But, if you want to sell on your site, you will have to pay for hosting, you will have to pay for domain name, so it is not free to get started. Also, selling on Udemy gets you free traffic because Udemy is always promoting the course on its site, so if you are selling on Udemy, you would get that traffic for free. You do not have to pay for ads. But, if you are selling on your site, you will have to pay for ads, pay for content marketing, so it is not free to sell on your site and neither to get the audience to visit your site. There are some cons to selling on Udemy. The fist con is the price. On Udemy, you cannot sell your product on high price. The maximum price on which that you can sell is 200 dollar, and Udemy would take fifty percent as its commission. Another problem is that, Udemy is always running some kind of promotion, so it is always like 90% discount. So, if you are selling it for maybe 100 dollar, Udemy is selling it for 10 dollar, you only make 5 dollar per sale. That is the problem of selling on Udemy. If you are selling on your site, you have control over the price. You can sell it at price whatever you like, maybe 100, 200, or 500 dollar. That is the benefit of selling on your site. Also, the competition on Udemy is really high, you have to compete with many different sellers on Udemy, but when you are selling on your site, you have more control and lower competition and that is the benefit of selling on your site. Which one you should choose? I would say, if you have a low budget, you can choose Udemy, but if you some budget, you can sell it on your site. But there is also another option for you; I say, you should combine them together, so the way I am doing that is, I use Udemy to sell my low ticket item, then I use those low ticket items to generate lead to generate students. And then I send those students to my site. They would go to my site to become a subscriber and there I would sell them the high ticket item. By doing that, I have synergized the two systems, you can actually do this as well. You can publish on both sites, partially some course on Udemy, and partially some course on your site, then you can send your students from Udemy to your site. I hope that you enjoyed that.
