Guyana is having an outsized impact on one of aviation's biggest challenges. As airlines around the world struggle to cut emissions and meet net-zero targets, new figures confirm Guyana still supplies the majority of carbon credits approved for use by the global aviation industry. The revelation came at a major international aviation conference in Brazil, where IATA’s Senior Vice President for Sustainability and Chief Economist Marie Owens Thomsen hailed Guyana's approach as a model for the world.
