About This Video

In this video I’m starting the body color work on my Tamiya Nissan 300ZX, and this is part 1 of the process. I’m focusing on getting set up the right way before the color really starts to stack up—because with automotive finishes, the prep and the way you spray matters just as much as the paint itself. If you’re building along with me, this is the stage where you want everything clean, smooth, and ready so the color lays down nice and even. I also go over the products and settings I rely on when I’m spraying model car bodies. Splash Paints is my go-to for airbrush-ready automotive colors, and I stick to the PSI range that works: about 15–20 PSI with a gravity-fed airbrush, and 20–25 PSI if you’re using suction feed. I shout out Auto Models LLC too, because they’re one of those spots where you can grab kits, tools, supplies, paints—everything in one place. If you’re new around here, subscribe and stick with me, because I’ll be continuing the 300ZX paint process in the next parts.
