Why Are Deer So Nervous at This Crossing? - Trail Cam Tuesday

Something has been bothering the deer at this crossing. Over the past few weeks, I started noticing a strange pattern on one of my trail cameras here in the Missouri Ozarks. Deer that normally pass through calmly suddenly stop… look around… and act extremely nervous before crossing. Some even turn back the way they came. At first I thought it might just be a coincidence, but the more footage I reviewed, the more it seemed like something was putting them on edge in this exact spot. In this video we’ll look at several trail cam clips showing the behavior and try to figure out what might be causing it. Is it a predator moving through the area? A scent left behind by another animal? Or something else entirely? Watch closely and let me know what you think is making these deer so nervous. I am wondering how long this has been going on. My guess is for many generations. I think it is ingrained in the deer at birth.
