We Are LOGGING! Well, Not Quite - Turning Neglected logs into Firewood As we finish one neglected pile of firewood, we now can turn our attention to the neglected logs. We will be using the chainsaw to cut these logs into firewood lengths. I tend to shoot for a length of 16" , But as i tell my customers, it can be +/- 2 inches due to human error, THAT"S ME, I'm the human. After i cut them with the saw, I roll them into the road, then push them with the Dresser 100G track loader to the log splitter. From there Kris and Ethan split the wood and throw it in the bucket of the loader. I then dump the firewood in the back of the truck and we saw, split , repeat over and over until the truck is full. then we get to stack it. It is hard work, but we do enjoy it, plus it makes us money from the logs that we cleared to make our orchard. We tried the logging route, taking the logs to the lumberyard, it just was not worth it, we can make more money selling it as firewood.
