This Food Plot Failed… So Why Do They Keep Coming Back?

This food plot didn’t grow the way I planned this year… but the trail camera still told a story worth watching. Deer moved through quietly — and when they were gone, coyotes passed through the same ground. Some years, food plots thrive. Other years, they don’t. This one struggled to produce much at all, but even so, it remained part of the daily rhythm of the woods. In this Trail Cam Tuesday video, you’ll see the food plot before and after a winter snow, peaceful deer moving through familiar ground, and coyotes passing quietly when the deer weren’t around. There’s no chase and no drama — just natural movement, seasonal change, and the reminder that wildlife doesn’t rely on food alone. Even when a food plot fails, it can still serve as a travel corridor, a crossing point, or a place animals feel comfortable returning to. Sometimes the story isn’t about what grows — it’s about what passes through.
