Something Had These Does on Edge…

On a foggy morning in the Missouri Ozarks, something had these does on edge. Our trail camera captured a quiet stretch of woods that didn’t feel quiet at all. As the fog settled in, every movement slowed, every sound seemed muted—and the does knew something wasn’t right. At first glance, it looked like just another calm morning in the woods. But watch closely. Heads lift. Ears twitch. Bodies tense. These deer weren’t relaxed—they were alert, scanning the fog as if something unseen was moving just beyond view. Trail cameras don’t always capture chaos. Sometimes they capture tension. This was one of those moments. As the fog drifted through the trees, the does stayed cautious, stepping carefully, pausing often, and reacting to something we never get to see. Predator or not, the woods had changed—and the deer felt it. Moments like this are a reminder that even when nothing happens, a lot is still going on.
