Can the WOODMAX FM78 FLAIL MOWER tackle this neglected CHESTNUT ORCHARD? We are about to find out. Ever since i bought this flail mower 2 years ago, i have been itching to try it out. Wondering why I waited 2 years to use the mower, watch this video to find out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBuRi05mAGs Since late 2022 we have not done much in the orchard, we are way behind with our plans for the orchard and hoping to turn that around in 2026. With more clearing planned and more trees planted. But before that happens, we need to get the chestnut orchard whipped into shape. Some of the brush and weeds are over our heads. At one point you can barely see the mower due to the high weeds lol, funny, but not funny. With Our first pass with the Woodmaxx FM78 flail mower we were impressed and happy with the results. It mowed through the tall weeds and brush with no problem. Some of the tall things would lay down and not get cut, not many, but some. But i would just turn around and come at it from a different angle and that would take care of it. I did end up running over the entire orchard three times, but with the grss and weeds as high as they were that was to be expected. It took us 20 tractor hours and about 16 man hours for the trimming around the trees. Now if we keep on top of it, it should not take no where near that time in the future.
