A walk through our Chestnut Orchard - A 2025 Chestnut Orchard Update. As I continue with the mowing of the chestnut orchard, Kris shows you some of the chestnut trees that may give us our first chestnuts from the orchard. We started our Orchard in 2020 with 66 trees that included trees we purchased from well known reputable growers as well as 15 dunstan trees we grew from seed. Those trees came from Tom Wahl and Kathy Dice from RED FERN FARM in Iowa as well as trees from Steve Lucas at AN OKLAHOMA CHESTNUT. Both places i highly reccomend for quality trees and nuts. RED FERN FARM is only a UPICK operation now and no longer sells trees. but if you visit their site they can reccomend someone that grows and sells trees. An OKLAHOMA CHESTNUT sells both trees and nuts. Back to our orchard, Our farm is FOGGY RIDGE FARM , we started our orchard in 2020 with 66 trees, 2021 we plabted 43 trees and in 2022 we planted 117 chestnut trees. During 2021 and 2022 Kris was going through cancer and we did not get as far along on our orchard as we would have liked. 2023 and 2024 we had some family illnesses that took all our free time so nothing was done in the orchard in those years. We were hoping to have our 6 acre chestnut orchard completed by 2025 but it just did not happen. But wwe move on from here and hopefully we will get it done soon. we currently grow and sell chestnut trees from our farm. Its been a long, slow progress but we keep moving forward and we will continue to expand our orchard until we reach our goal. Don't forget to like, comment, and share our videos with others.
