Originally, we planned to tile the entire turret from floor to ceiling. But after reconsidering the acoustics (and the complexity of tiling around all the curves and windows), we decided to paint the upper walls instead. What seemed like a simple decision quickly turned into a design dilemma. The first color we chose looked perfect in the store… but once it hit the walls it turned into something much brighter than we expected. Let’s just say the bathroom briefly looked like Pepto-Bismol pink. While we rethink the paint choice, we also tackle another exciting milestone in the renovation: pouring concrete around the original Roman millstone embedded in the floor of our historic watermill. This stone is likely part of the mill’s original structure, so preserving it has been incredibly important to us. Between paint experiments, concrete mixing, and a lucky vintage mirror find, this episode captures another real step in turning our abandoned mill into a home.
