In this video I tested the Carbinox X-Ranger rugged smartwatch the only way I know how: I literally chucked it and tried to break it. I’ve had this watch for about 3 months and wore it every single day, so this isn’t just a quick unbox—this is my real experience plus a durability test. Carbinox leans hard into the “rugged” angle (waterproof, dust proof, shock proof), so I put that claim through its paces and checked what actually holds up. I go over what you get in the box, including the magnetic proprietary charger (no wireless charging like Apple Watch) and the included screen protector. Day-to-day, it’s comfortable, the screen is bright, and the interface feels pretty intuitive—kind of like an Android device—but I did notice occasional lag on the app grid. The biggest annoyance is notifications: if the Carbinox app isn’t open and refreshed sometimes, notifications can stop coming through. Where this watch really shines is battery life. It’s advertised at up to 10 days, and in my use that’s absolutely true—night and day compared to my old Apple Watch I had to charge basically every day. It’s not indestructible, but the main watch body stayed intact and the screen was protected really well, especially for just over $100 with a lifetime warranty.
