In this video I’m checking out a really cool desk setup gadget from Divoom called the Times Gate. If you remember the other Divoom pixel stuff I’ve had in the background before, this is basically that same “techie desk ornament” vibe, but with five little display modules that can show useful info and look sick doing it. I unbox it, do the satisfying peel, and show you the buttons, the USB-C power, and the whole startup sequence—because the boot-up screen and the RGB on the sides are honestly pretty freaking cool. After I plug it in and pair it, I walk through how the Divoom app works: you scan the QR code (or just open the app like I did), add the device, connect it to Wi‑Fi, and it auto-downloads the latest firmware. Out of the box it can show stuff like weather, a clock/date, stocks, and even a decibel meter so you can see ambient noise change when you talk. The fun part is customizing it—switching full “group” themes, swapping to cyberpunk-style layouts, changing RGB modes, and even pulling YouTube stats onto your desk. My takeaway: you don’t “need” it, but if you like a techy aesthetic, this thing makes your setup look a lot cooler.
