Dr. Paul Law, Chris, Jason, Dr. Matthew, Dr. Sem, and Dr. George travel 1000km on motorcycles in the jungles of the Congo. Riding in an effort to save children's lives. Dr. Law’s mission is to save thousands of children from dying in the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s poorest province. He is Chief of Medical Research and the only pediatrician in Sankuru Province, which is about the size of Ohio and has 3 million residents – half of whom are under 18. Sankuru is profoundly underdeveloped. It has no paved roads or airports. Most villages can be reached only by foot or the tiny motorcycles most of the population cannot afford. Municipal water or electrical systems do not exist. The mortality rate for Sankuru children under five is 15% to 20% -- no one knows the exact number because the data collection is as poor as the population. (By comparison, the under-5 mortality rate in the US is less than 1% -- 6.2 deaths per 1,000 live births.)
