Australian Academy of Science 2024 New Fellow - Professor Rachelle Buchbinder AO

Professor Rachelle Buchbinder AO, a rheumatologist and clinical epidemiologist in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University, has been elected as a 2024 new Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science. She is recognised internationally for her contributions to musculoskeletal health research and vocal advocacy of evidence-based health care. Her research has challenged misconceptions about back pain and the value of accepted treatments to improve clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.
