Rock Bridge Memorial State Park was one of the highlights of our Columbia trip. We did the loop with the kids and Chip, checked out Rock Bridge, walked into Hanging Creek, and went down into Devil’s Icebox (at least the safe beginning part). Just know it’s a lot of stairs, but it’s a really fun, shaded hike.
Pros
- +Great family hike with multiple unique features (bridge, caves, gorge)
- +Mostly shaded and comfortable even on a warm day
- +Dog-friendly for active pups like Chip
Cons
- -Not handicap accessible due to lots of stairs
- -Devil’s Icebox gets dangerous if you go beyond the start without proper gear
