A paved labyrinth in Centennial Park, children jutting through it, a glimmer on the harbour, sparkles on the seas, flowers abandoned on footpath, water surging over concrete, cut rocks, and cut trees. Observations from a walk-through Sydney, recorded around Centennial Park Labyrinth, Tar-Ra (Dawes Point) and Clovelly Beach. The video incorporates a timed audio description. The following words are taken from the plinth at the site of the labyrinth in Centennial Park; “Reflection and renewal. It differs from a maze in that it only has one path and there are no dead ends. There is no right or wrong way to walk... Simply find your natural place and feel free to overtake if the need arises. It’s a two-way street, so you may meet others on the path. Walk your way into the bigger picture.” Music credits: Journey to the Centre. Composed by Corrina Bonshek. Performed by Adina String Quartet: Alan Smith (violin I), Jane Burroughs (violin II), Nicholas Tomkin (viola), Kathryn Close (cello). Recorded, mixed, & mastered by Geoff McGahan.
