Loction: Shot in a single take during the crossing of Port Phillip bay from Queenscliff to Sorrento. Cinematographer: Ivan Masic Commissioned by Open House Melbourne 2022 for the exhibition 'Take hold of the clouds', curated by Dr Fleur Watson and Dr Tara McDowell I work at the intersection of art and architecture, using modes of drawing that I have advanced from each discipline to critically connect with specific places, narratives and conditions. I seek to reveal, record and imagine relations between histories, anecdotes, materials, traces and trajectories within the mediums of space and time, to build a picture of place that I view as the world drawing itself. My work exposes entanglements between very localized and present conditions, distant space and deep time, building an ethical, democratic and critical mode of environmental, spatial and social awareness. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This video is included in the exhibition 'Exterior Monologue', curated by Olivia O'Donnell and Virginia Overell as part of the 2024 MSD x Melbourne Design Week program.
