Through the ups, downs, and steady states, it's really discouraging when it feels like a series of downs keep stacking one on top of another and after my father was killed, I've had series' of weeks or even months where everything that can go wrong, does go wrong and so I've spent the past near-decade tracking my downs to see if there's a way for me to measure how "bad" my life is in periods of time, and how "great" my life is in others. I use "air-quotes" by the way because I now realize a HUGE part of all of this is perception depending on inflection points, mood, amount of sleep I get, and just straight-up luck. Still, regardless, in this video, I want to share exactly how to calculate how much your life sucks (which of course, on the flip side, also means calculating how much your life rocks). In other words, the title is an attempt at being algorithmically friendly - not to be, nor encourage a self-pity fest. ================= TIMELINE & LINKS 🔗 ================= Some of the links below are affiliate links. Now it's important to note that smart scales are NOT medically accurate (like say, compared to a Dexa Scan), but they are a great in-home alternative to, at the very least, track net-changes. This is super easy with things that inherently have numbers associated with them - money, temperature, distance, speed - but with things that are qualitative - like say, happiness - measuring accurately and consistently are near-impossible. The easiest way we have is to try and quantify the qualitative by doing a subjective rating, say, "How happy are you on a scale from 1 to 10?". The lack of accuracy and consistency is obvious - all the parameters could be identical two days in a row, but the fact that we got less sleep on day two might make our perception of everything else worse compared to day one. Still, it's the easiest way to try and grab a baseline-reading. 2:58 - Financial Measurements By the way, if you or someone you know is in debt, here is my completely free Get-Out-Of-Debt workbook: ✅ 🔗 https://mauricemoves.com/pages/fuck-debt 3:16 - More Relationships Than You Think 4:00 - Download Life Score Spreadsheet ✅ 🔗 https://bit.ly/LifeScoreCalculator I've used this spreadsheet as a way to self help, by being able to gain clarity in order to act; to make necessary positive changes, and the most valuable part of it is that it gives me a birds eye view of what matters. Self improvement is challenging before there's clarity. 4:27 - Step 1 - Lynchpins 5:00 - Step 2 - The Wake-Up Rule 5:51 - Step 3 - The Ladder Plan Want to connect more?
