In this video, I’m upgrading our living room with the Hisense L9Q Laser TV and going all-in on the cleanest ultra-short-throw setup I’ve done yet: a 120” motorized ALR floor-rising screen paired with a custom UST cabinet. The goal was simple—get that massive home theater look when we want it, but keep the space looking like an actual living room when we don’t. And the motorized screen + cabinet combo is the secret sauce for that “disappears when it’s off” vibe. I walk through the whole setup approach—why I went with a Laser TV for a bright, everyday-friendly image, why an ALR screen matters in a real room, and how the Nothing Projector/Shore cabinet is designed specifically for UST throw distance and clean cable management. I also tie in the lighting side of the upgrade with a few Govee pieces (rope light, lamps, uplighter, and the AI Sync Box) to make the space feel more immersive without turning it into a cluttered RGB mess.
