In this video I build out a brand new complete for 2024, and it’s basically me committing (again) to changing things up so I can keep the stoke high and the progress moving. I set up an 8.5" WKND deck and pair it with 54mm Spitfire Formula 4 Kader Sylla wheels, then I swap over to 8.5" Slappy trucks because I really wanted to give these a real shot. It’s one of those setups where I’m trying to find that sweet spot between stability and still being able to whip the board around without feeling like I’m fighting it. The main takeaway is simple: sometimes a new setup is the reset you need—mentally and physically. I’m not claiming this is the “best” setup for everyone, but this is what I’m running right now and why. The Slappy trucks are the big change, and I’m keeping it honest: I’m testing them and I might do a full review once I’ve actually put time into them.
