In this video today we’re spending 24 hours in Luxor, Egypt to see some of the most important historical sights and of course delicious Egyptian food in a full day! Luxor Temple - We’re starting this morning at the famous Temple of Luxor, right in the heart of the city, constructed in about 1400 BCE. Temple of Karnak - This UNESCO world heritage site is absolutely a must visit when you’re in Egypt and a huge part of the ancient city of Thebes (Luxor now). One of the most impressive parts of visiting Karnak is the hypostyle hall that includes 134 columns that are 10 meters high. Abu Rushdi Restaurant (https://maps.app.goo.gl/fN4VgG4Qv5SLrXB29) - A lot of locals recommended this as one of the best local Egyptian food restaurants in Luxor. And the food was fantastic, from the roast chicken to the beef cooked in ghee. Great and local place to experience Egyptian food when you’re in Luxor. Valley of the Kings - Next up on this tour in Luxor, Egypt, we’re going to the famous Valley of the Kings, across the Nile River from the temples, where you’ll find some of the most famous tombs of all the Pharaohs - from Ramesses to Seti to Tutankhamun. The hieroglyphics and wall painting reliefs are truly impressive. Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut - Not far from the Valley of the Kings is the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, another impressive temple built and terraced into the side of the mountain. Om Hashem Grills (https://maps.app.goo.gl/RDaiRiT3NBzux3oZ6) - Sightseeing in Ancient Egypt will get you hungry, and if you ask most locals in Luxor where to go for Egyptian bbq, that answer will be Om Hashem Grills. Abanoub and I tried their lamb chops, kofta, and tarb. 24 hours in Luxor, Egypt, and guaranteed this is a place that will blow your mind with history, architecture, and incredible culture.
