We’ll first visit a wedding kitchen, where we’ll see the process of what goes into all the cooking behind the scenes. After we eat, we’ll visit a real Qatari wedding in a wedding hall and have another amazing Qatari meal of a whole camel feast! To begin this epic food experience, I’m meeting up with my friend Fahad who is taking us to a catering restaurant that specializes in huge portions, that you can order especially for big events like weddings or other big gatherings. The two main specialities are lamb and the main ultimate Qatari food dish of whole camel. We ordered a whole camel. The cooking process was very interesting with the spices like cumin and coriander and dried lemons and lots of saffron. The camel was boiled until tender and paired with a huge platter of fragrant rice. The camel was very tasty and it’s a prized Arabian meat across the Arabian Peninsula. The hump is pretty much all fat, but it’s a good fat, known to be healthier than other meats and more nutritious. The flavor of the hump mixed with bites of the fragrant fluffy rice was fantastic. After eating the camel feast, Fahad then took me to a real Qatari wedding. One of the surprises was dancing with swords - a traditional Qatari wedding dance - it was incredibly special. Then we sat down with the wedding party for another camel feast at the wedding. This was one of the most unique and grand meals we experienced in Qatar!
