HTMS Sattakut is a wreck on Koh Tao. The HTMS Sattakut is a US Warship used as a landing Craft and amphibious assault ship during the World War 2. The HTMS Sattakut was part of the Battle of Iwo Jima. Koh Tao is the number one place in the world to learn how to scuba dive. Before 2011 Koh Tao was missing a wreck to teach the Wreck Specialty courses and the PASI MSDT Wreck Specialty Instructor Courses. It was fantastic news that the Thai government sunk the HTMS Sattakut in 2011, for people to dive on. Not only is the HTMS Sattakut on Koh tao a great wreck to scuba dive on, it also created a new artificial reef attracting lots of aquatic life. The HTMS Sattakut is located just south of Hin Pee Wee Dive site and with good conditions you can combine the 2 dive sites on one dive.
