Pitt Race Rewind: Asphalt, Adrenaline, Action

For more than two decades, Pittsburgh International Race Complex — better known as Pitt Race — has stood as one of the true cornerstones of American grassroots motorsports. Opening its doors in 2002 as Beaver Run, the facility began with a 1.6‑mile road course and karting track, later expanding to a full 2.78-mile, multi-configuration circuit after Jim and Kathy Stout revitalized the struggling property in 2011. Pitt Race quickly became a home for SCCA, NASA, ChampCar, Trans Am, F4, F3 Americas, GRIDLIFE, karting clubs, driver training programs, and countless weekend warriors who found their passion here. But now, the engines are going quiet. In October 2025, the owners announced that the 2025 season would be Pitt Race’s last, confirming the facility had been sold and would no longer operate as a motorsports venue.
