Jeera pulao is the quickest way to liven up rice for a meal and uses only four spices. I sizzled 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 bay leaf, star anise and cinnamon scroll in a generous tablespoon of ghee. The star anise is my addition, but I think it adds something and is so pretty! I cup or 210g of rice is sautéed in the ghee and spices and then you add 420ml freshly boiled hot water (double in volume). Bring back to boil, lower heat to simmer covered for 12 minutes. Then leave for five minutes before you unveil, fluff and serve. #basmatirice #indiancooking #jeerarice #jeerapulao
