In this badging video, I walk you through the basic, safe, “don’t-break-the-shared-gear” way to use the Canon Rebel T7 DSLR in our MakeHaven Media Room. I start at the safe: the camera stays in MakeHaven, the SD card is glued in (so it doesn’t disappear), and you’ll use the supplied USB cable to transfer files. I also cover what’s in the kit (lens, caps, batteries, charger, wipes) and the habits that keep the camera working for the next person—like getting the body cap off for as short a time as possible so dust doesn’t land inside. From there I show how to mount the Canon EFS 18–55mm lens (line up the white dots, twist until it clicks), and how to use the AF/MF and stabilizer switches. I tour the mode dial (Auto, Manual, Sports, Video), then in Manual I demonstrate how to change shutter speed with the top roller, aperture with the AV button + roller, and ISO with the ISO button. I also point out image quality settings (JPEG vs RAW+JPEG) and video recording size (resolution and frame rate, including 60 fps for slow motion). Finally, I cover focusing and playback, deleting images (or formatting the card), adjusting the viewfinder diopter, and why the neck strap should be on you the whole time. I end with the exact USB transfer workflow using EOS Utility—and the key gotcha: Wi‑Fi must be disabled for USB transfer to work reliably.
