In this badging video for our Necchi HD22 sewing machines at MakeHaven, I walk you through the core setup and the basic controls so you can get sewing without fighting the machine. I cover the main parts you’ll touch every time: the power switch, foot pedal for speed, and the hand wheel (always turn it towards you). Then I show the stitch selectors—realistically, you’re mostly going to live in straight stitch and zigzag—and how stitch length and zigzag width change what you get. From there, I demo the full threading workflow: winding a bobbin, loading it into the bobbin case, threading the top path using the numbered guides, and bringing the bobbin thread up by turning the hand wheel and pulling the top thread. I also talk about tension in a practical way—what it looks like when top vs. bottom tension is off, and the goal of having the threads meet in the middle. Finally, I sew a few test lines, show how I backstitch with the reverse lever to lock stitches at the start and end, and point out simple habits that make your sewing cleaner and safer: keep fingers out from under the needle, use the edge markings for consistent seam allowance, clean up snipped threads, turn the machine off, and put the cover back on when you’re done.
