This is the first full-color e-ink frame I’ve used that launched with a real smart home integration, and that’s literally what pushed me to finally install Home Assistant. On the wall it leans way closer to a traditional print than a backlit LCD frame, and the fact that it can hang wire-free is the whole magic.
Pros
+Paper-like, print-style look (not a bright backlit LCD)
+Battery powered for clean, wire-free wall mounting
+Manufacturer Home Assistant integration (entities like next image)
+No subscription required
+App supports playlists, art, widgets, and even AI images
+SD card option for a more local experience
Cons
-Image changes take ~10 seconds and do a noticeable refresh
-150 DPI is lower than typical prints when viewed up close
-Home Assistant control can be tricky because the frame sleeps to save battery
