Aqara Valve Controller T1

I used the Aqara Valve Controller T1 to retrofit an automatic shutoff onto my main water line, and it’s the centerpiece of my water-damage prevention setup. Once it’s paired to Homey Pro (and optionally exposed to Apple Home for emergencies), I can shut off the house automatically when critical leak sensors trip.

Pros

+Enables automatic main water shutoff when leaks are detected
+Quick install (three screws) and battery powered (four AA)
+Can be controlled through Homey Pro and surfaced in Apple Home for emergency use

Cons

-Requires a ball valve (I had to replace my gate valve)
-In my testing it didn’t seem to shut the valve off completely (possible trickle)
