The Aqara G350 is the indoor camera that surprised me the right way: it’s a real hub, it’s practically silent when it pans, and it can do AI sound detection like cry detection. It’s also the first Matter camera on the market—ready for Matter 1.5 cameras—even though Apple Home isn’t ready to consume Matter cameras yet.
Pros
+Acts as an Aqara hub/Matter controller (I used it as the controller for my U400)
+First Matter camera on the market (Matter 1.5 camera-ready)
+Practically silent pan/tilt motor
+360° vision with person/animal tracking
+AI sound detection includes cry detection
Cons
-Apple Home doesn’t support Matter cameras yet, so that benefit is future-facing
-Cry detection notifications come from Aqara, not Apple Home (in my workflow)
-Large and doesn’t blend in; guests notice it
-No color night vision
-Too heavy for the wall mount I bought, so it ended up on a shelf
