for more home decor inspiration and behind the scenes so without further ado let's get on to the transformation here is how my closet looked when we first moved in on the left and on the right is how it looks currently before i wanted to make some changes this closet already came with a hanging rod and shelf where i added a three drawer dresser and a four cube storage to it this really helps maximize the space here is how the closet looks now we walked through it to get to our bathroom and i can see it from our bed so it was really important to me that it also looks beautiful and is multifunctional [Music] i started by marie cone doing my closet and going through everything this is an important step so you're not just organizing unwanted clutter as you can see i had a lot of outerwear jackets i do live in seattle so i always have these hanging um the best way to maximize drawer space is to file fold you can visually see what you have and it will stand up on its own and if you also get drawer dividers like i did it's easier to keep it all organized i like to divide my drawers into tops bottoms and activewear [Music] let me know down in the comments if you file fold your winter jackets i like how it has handles and a see-through window so i can see what i'm storing since i do have my drawers pulled a bit forward i have storage behind it where i store things such as my suitcases and my out of season clothing so be sure to take advantage of any hidden storage to add more interest to the top i added the leftover contact paper from my office makeover and it really just elevates the look and i really love this modern pattern it also really helps the two pieces of furniture be cohesive with each other i finally found the perfect cube storage for my space i love the texture and color with its go tassel pole and it's also large in size so it can fit a lot of things i bought five and it fits perfectly on the top shelf so my tip is to always measure your space when shopping for the right storage you need i neatly file fold any clothing that's going to be stored in the bins and since these bins are at the top i store my out-of-season accessories in it i also switched my wicker bins from the top to the fabric ones and it has a lot more storage i have them separated into items such as sweaters winter accessories and i also store my bags and purses in there too [Music] you can also file fold some of your purses or smaller bags to make sure that they fit nicely i just love how i know where everything is and it's that much easier to find things when i need it [Music] for the wicker bins that go in the cubby below i put my in-season accessories like my sandals and swimsuits be sure to store your frequently used items where you can easily access them [Music] this space had to also be my makeup vanity area i really downsized my collection and got this really cute bamboo box to put everything in i love how organized it is and really minimalist and i also got this spinning organizer for my brushes above it i have my corkboard grid organizer that i use as necklace storage and to have more accessories and cute photos it's such a cute and innovative way to display your jewelry i also changed out an older box full of my keepsakes for a new one to match my new color scheme and i just love how versatile these photo boxes are to the right of my closet i added a large coat hook that i can use for hanging and styling my outfits now it is my favorite part time to style everything and put it together i love how i can use this top surface as usable counter space i also thrifted this really pretty burlap tray to hold more accessories such as my sunglasses and i just have another tray also that i diy'd it is a gold tray which i will link down below for the tutorial and just by displaying some of my favorite things it really makes the space more personal and an area that i really enjoy getting ready in [Music] since i do get ready in the space and do my makeup and change and create outfits i really wanted it to be an inspiring space so i wanted to just add some of my favorite beautiful accessories like i'm doing here so i just encourage you to be creative with your closet space it doesn't just have to be a storage space it can be really like a sanctuary and summer you really enjoy being overall i'm so happy with how this all came together by picking the right stylish and functional storage it really made this space my own i can pull up my chair do my makeup and pick my outfit for the day it really goes to show that
