This is a from-scratch soap recipe using the cold process method, which creates five to six bars of gentle and sweet-smelling chamomile soap. Cold-process soapmaking is chemistry, and this recipe uses lye. Lye is a caustic substance completely neutralized in the soapmaking process, but it can be harmful if not handled correctly.
