“[Music] [Music] thank you hey guys welcome back to my channel so today it is officially the start of Christmas for us we are going to start decorating today is Sunday the 27th of November so it's like four weeks before Christmas and I always feel like that's the perfect time to put up my tree but then as soon as Christmas is over I kind of just take it out straight away so I get four weeks of full-on festive enjoyment and then it's done so we're gonna get really Fest today we're gonna play some music get all our decorations up I've got quite a few new bits as well that I want to introduce you guys through the bits that I've got that are new [Music] thank you [Music] okay all of the decorations are inside we had a little bit of her issue basically pretty much all of our decorations were in a massive cardboard box and it broke so I had to like DeCamp things into those little bags but we finally got them in there's loads of stuff that I just completely forgot we even had and if anyone um doesn't know that we basically thought we were gonna move before Christmas last year and we actually thought we were going to move in October and it got postponed postponed postponed postponed we put all of our stuff in storage because they were like no it's definitely gonna happen and we didn't end up moving until January so lastly it was a bit crappy because we didn't really decorate for Christmas there's loads of stuff that yeah we basically haven't seen it for like two years now so I've got some new bits let me run you through my new bits first one last year we had a wooden door that we had just like a little nail in this year we have our brand new composite door so I grabbed one of these off of Amazon so this is like a reef hook that goes over your door I think it's about six quid they did it in loads of different colors if you can hear you can hear stuff in the background Steve's um getting the slow cooker on to do pork for dinner tonight um but yeah it was on Amazon came like the next days like six quid and our Reef as well which I don't think we used last year because I think it probably was in storage I got it from lights for fun and it's a mistletoe Reef I absolutely love this you're on a good sniff Rocky um yes I don't think we used it because I think it would have been in storage um yeah I absolutely love it and it was a really really good price actually um and I think lots of fun always have like loads of sales and stuff on so it's always worth checking it out so that is all the stuff for the front door um another thing I grabbed this year is I got a Garland so this is kind of like meant to be more of like a frosted foliage type thing I don't really gravitate towards like the kind of fur like Christmas tree fur type tree stuff um but this has light in it as well she's putting some batteries in it so I was thinking that would go across the sideboard that I got that from very actually I got it in the Black Friday sale I grabbed some more Christmas tree hooks I have so much I've had for absolute years and they've they're like um green plastic ones to hang the baubles off of I we never seem to have enough so I got some gold ones this year those are from Amazon as well anything that's kind of new I will link down below um also grabbed some of these so we have never had a mantle before and I've always wanted a mantle to like hang stockings off of so I saw these I got these on Amazon as well but they're meant to be like little weighted um stocking holders I'm not sure they're really going to hold very much weight they don't feel like they would but we will see so I got three of these you can get them in loads of different designs but I just got three of the little Christmas trees just to go along the mantle there so I thought those would be practical but would they look cute um they were 10 pounds each I think these I actually grabbed a couple of months ago um when the Christmas decorations first came out in stores me and my sister tried to get these last year and they were completely out of stock so they're from dunelm and there's basically three different size and colors of like Nordic paper Christmas trees so it's eight pounds for a pack so I picked up one for me one for my sister um just wanted to grab them before they went out of stock they were being proper nosy aren't you we also grabbed some stuff when we were in California um at the beginning of this month I would have shared these in my California Vlog but one of them was these little soldiers so I said before that I always see people have these and I don't know where they're getting from because whenever I try and find affordable ones they've always got like they're quite tacky and they've got like the Beards on them and stuff and I just didn't want that I wanted really really simple ones um I think I'm just gonna keep these neutral this year but I might paint them next year so like I said I got them in California they were from TJ Maxx um 13 each one of them did break on the way home so I thought they were all wood but they're actually kind of like a resin so I don't know if you can see underneath his jacket it kind of like split in half so I super glued them back together so I'm thinking maybe I'll keep one neutral and then that one I might just have to paint black or something to kind of hide the crack um I'm not going to do that today I'm just going to set everything up and then if I want to do that later on I can do that another little America find um if you've ever been to America they have um Trader Joe's which is like a kind of farmers market-esque Supermarket um and they had loads of really cute little like crafty bits in their Christmas bits and they had these um wool Garland like bauble things so I actually ended up getting four of these I think they were five dollars each um and each of them six foot so twenty dollars worth of Garland stuff since I've come home I have seen the b m do something really similar now I've heard that out of stock literally everywhere but they're like wooden bauble garlands so if you're on the lookout maybe try b m on off chance I do have some they're a similar sort of price but I like the little kind of white wool ones I think they're really cute so I think I might try to put them around the tree and see how they look if not I can kind of like I don't know drape them anywhere really another thing we do so our anniversary is in November um and basically we have this tradition that we always try and go away for our anniversary it's normally just like a little weekend break somewhere in Europe the first one we ever did was in Switzerland and there was this incredible Christmas shop it was like a whole other level so we bought a Christmas ball ball from that shop that we hung on our tree and we've kind of got this little IO we've kind of got this little Edition where every time we go away for our anniversary we'll pick up another decoration um so this year we were in California I went to Walmart I think it was it was like a Walmart or Target or something um there wasn't any anywhere else that we kind of saw that had really nice decorations to be honest but we saw this so it's really cute just like a little white ceramic house I think the vibe for the tree is kind of like creams whites Golds that kind of vibe I also grabbed there's so much stuff in here that I completely forgot I even ordered I also grabbed this from um habitat I got it in Sainsbury's I don't know how much it was I saw it picked up as Steve was about to check out and I literally just thrusted at him I was like we need this but it's like a little kind of wooden Christmas tree and then my dad is very clever and he made me this one so I sent him a photo of some that we saw in a store in America and they were way more like angled and Nordic so he made me this one as like a little test because he does like wood turning and stuff um so yeah I've got another one but I've asked him to make me like way more in loads of different sizes and I can have like a little Christmas tree family um so that's really cool as well I might stain it I don't know I'm not entirely sure what I'm gonna do with that um and I'm gonna have to scatter them around a bit I think okay so definitely show these to you guys in an h m haul um I got these a while back like I think I've learned my lesson that when I see Christmas stuff that I like even if it's like October November although I don't allow myself to get into the Christmas spirit until like December like end of December if I see stuff it goes out of stock so quickly just grab it so I saw these from h m it's just like a little pack of these really tiny little um I don't know what they're made of like little ceramicy black stars so I thought they'd be really cute to break up all the kind of like cream and everything going on um how much were they it doesn't say but I think they're really affordable so in each pack I think there's like six and I got two packs um and then the only other thing I got that's new is like napkin rings which like isn't a Christmas decoration but I'll be using them on my we're basically hosting Christmas this year um so yeah I thought it'd be nice to have table all set up and I got these gold knit knit knotted kind of um napkin rings which I thought really cute also from h m um and then I think I think that is it the only thing I've not gone in is the Christmas tree um so yeah I think I'm just gonna have to like lay everything out and see what I'm working with oh the other thing I haven't kind of spoken to you guys about is um the tree skirt so I'll put up a photo of the one that we got in a second but basically this is the one I originally have I actually have two of these um and I'm going to put them on Facebook Marketplace I think because they're just a little bit too small and also I want to kind of step away from this really rusticy Vibe it's just not really our style anymore I don't think it's ever been our style but I think I was like just desperate for wanting to sort of grabbed one but this is like literally two centimeters too small for our tree which has been fine in our previous house because our tree was always in a corner so you kind of like used to tilt it so you wouldn't really see the tree is going on this wall behind us so it'll be so obvious that it doesn't fit so when we put our tree up today I'm just gonna put a um fur blanket or something around the base just temporarily but basically I ordered a brand new tree skirt I was gonna try and DIY one but I couldn't really figure out what I really wanted and then I saw this one which is a metal kind of like black one really simplistic it'll go really well with our decor and I think it's just a little bit more contemporary and a bit more I don't know it's not as out there um luckily it comes in three pieces so you just put it together and screw it together so we can put it on our tree once it's already like up and everything so I think that's not going to arrive until like the beginning of next week so yeah we'll have a couple of days without a Christmas tree skirt but I think I can get over that um anyway should we get decorating boys I don't even know where I'm gonna put all of this [Music] foreign [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] thank you [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] rain is coming out to play Santa Claus is back in the presents making sure you've been behaving okay [Music] Merry Christmas honey yeah the snowman's dusting off his head okay guys so the tree is up and decorated so I've just put um a kind of fluffy blanket around there like I said temporary because the tree skirt's not here yet um our dogs don't tend to touch the Christmas tree so slightly worried they might try an eye on the blanket but I think it'll be all right as a general rule we don't put really any low-lying baubles just because of the dogs yeah I like what we've got going on so we've got a mix of kind of like these creamy ones um some more kind of champagney ones um but I like that we've got kind of like a mix of different sizes as well so these ones are all from like a set from John Lewis these teeny teeny tiny ones here are from anthropology and I love them because it just breaks up a little bit adds a little bit more Sparkle to the tree as well the little black stars that I got from h m are very very very subtle um they're great because they're really lightweight so you can put them like on the edge like end of a branch um but they are like a very kind of subtle touch they're not super obvious we've obviously got a lot of special ornaments on here so like I said this is the one that we got in California um I made these last year where we didn't go away um no sorry the year before because of obviously the c word um I made these ones so that's Milo's name we've got another little bone here with Rocky's name on there's one with Steve's name on down here and then there's another one with my name on just there um so those are some of our special ones um this is the one that we got at Disneyland absolutely love that and this is the first year that we've hung it even though we've got like two years ago um so that's pretty cool I actually forgot we had it this was the OG one that we got in Switzerland for our first anniversary that's probably my favorite one it's like covered in little pearls it's just so so pretty what other special ones do we have Steve oh this one um this is the one that we got in Amsterdam I will admit we struggle to find a nice one in Amsterdam there was a lot of like rude ones but not many nice ones so we got that one um yeah I think that's it I like how the Garland adds a little something to the tree but I wouldn't say I'm 100 happy with the execution like I said this is the first year that we've had a tree that's not like in a corner and it's really hard you have to like decorate all the way around um and then yeah the last bit that we've got is the star I think I think that was from home sense I can't quite remember but I think it was right now we've just got random little odd bits to kind of decorate the sideboard and stuff and then I think we are done we've got some very sleepy puppies then we've got to watch a Christmas movie aren't we we are probably elf I little blanket basket back there for now obviously our whole kind of like fireplace half situation is actually still a work in progress I actually have some different stockings to put there um they're like white furry ones which I prefer more but I can't find them I think they're in a box in the garage somewhere these ones were looking a little bit lackluster so we actually just put some like plastic bags and stuff in there just to look like they've actually got something in them even though they don't um and then over on the sideboard I am beyond chuffed with this Garland I think it's so so nice the lights are the perfect color on it um and it's not your typical like Christmas Scotland but yeah I absolutely love it we've got our little soldiers on either side we've got a star that was like a decoupage star that I got last year from I want to say it was from like Hobbycraft or something and I just painted it black and then on this side I've got my little Hobby Craft not Hobbycraft habitat Christmas tree the other Christmas tree that my dad made is in the kitchen um which is a bit of a mess at the moment because Steve's cooking lunch um but I put it next to a bowl that he made for me as well so they look quite nice together also I am in love with these I'm so glad I got these early because I think they are adorable and obviously everything in here super neutral and I think it's actually quite nice we've got like a little red tree there but yeah absolutely love those think look at this dog I think he's ready for movie time all right I am gonna sign this video off here um that's okay two hours to get that all done which isn't too bad it looks so nice and cozy now I would have liked to have decorated more of the house but obviously work in progress still so it's just
