Hi friends! In this spring outdoor refresh, I’m taking you along as I get our backyard deck ready for the warmer months with a mix of cleaning, planting, and a little simple decorating. I started by heading to Home Depot to pick out flowers for two small planters and one big planter, and I went with bright, happy colors—yellow, orange, red, plus some pink and white. I love how much life and vibrancy fresh flowers bring to an outdoor space, especially when everything else is still coming out of “winter mode.” Once the planting was done, we tackled a few refresh projects that made a big difference. David repainted our back door (it had a stain at the bottom that just wasn’t looking good), and I deep-cleaned all of our outdoor cushions and pillows with Dawn Power Wash, then let everything dry overnight. The next day I added affordable Amazon cushion covers to our World Market sofa cushions (the originals ripped and replacements were way too expensive), styled the space back up with pillows, and finished it off with a new floral doormat.
