Why are some costume designs believable while others look fake? Rings of Power looks generic, while Lord of the Rings defined a genre. The Rings of Power seems like a mixed bag with it's designs, that isn't necessarily the fault of the designers themselves, even in small productions, a lot of different people have a say. At the moment the problem isn't whose fault it is, we don't know that, but the problem is there, and they could fix it if they wanted to.
