I love doing it in that order because antiquing refreshes my eye, and then thrifting helps me recreate that elevated look on a budget. I share the kinds of pieces I’m always hunting for (brass, vintage bowls, glass, village pieces, and entertaining staples), plus how I think about shopping after I’ve already pulled my Christmas bins out so I’m only “rounding out” what I truly need. Back at home, I style and DIY in a way that feels warm, neutral, and intentional. I clean up a brass reindeer candle holder with my gentle vinegar/salt/flour paste (an old Martha Stewart trick), upgrade it with a burgundy ribbon, and then tackle two holiday DIYs: a book tree for the guest room (spines facing in for a cohesive look) and a horse wreath using layered greenery and ribbon for a classic halter detail.
